Salwa is a versatile lawyer with extensive expertise in commercial, corporate, tourism, and international law. During her tenure at the Attorney General’s Office, she advised the Ministry of Tourism on critical tourism related matters and regulations, gaining deep insight into the sector. As Senior State Counsel, she represented the government in international disputes and high-profile litigation, including constitutional cases, while drafting key legislation and amendments to numerous laws. Her role also extended to providing legal counsel on significant investments, loan financing, and various commercial and regulatory affairsacross multiple government ministries.
Since transitioning to private practice, Salwa has handled high-level legal matters, including the acquisition and sale of tourist resort islands, hotel management deals, loan financing transactions and employment matters.
Salwa is known for her strategic legal analysis and ability to provide effective solutions to complex legal issues. She excels in legal research, negotiation, and advocacy, skilfully communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and judges to achieve favourable outcomes. Salwa has also served on the Government’s National Independent Bid Review Committee, based in the Ministry of Finance, and is a member of the Capital Market Development Authority’s Institute of Directors and Secretaries.
